New Castle Branch Library The New Castle Branch Library was built in the 1960s and has approximately 34,000 items in the collection.   It is located in the historic coal mining town of New Castle, Colorado.  On the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm a group meets that is devoted to needle arts, such as crocheting and knitting. 

A special feature is the local history room that includes items of historical interest in Garfield County.
