Sunshine Girls Take 5th at Literacy Outreach
Spellebration

Ann Honchell, Sunny Whilldin and Pam Robinson made up the team of the "GoodDay Sunshine Girls" for the Literacy Outreach's annual Spellebration.  Their motto was "Library Card - Your Ticket to Ride".  Their team raised $475 and came in 5th place out of 26 teams.  Ann said they really had a lot of fun at the event.

Great job!

LIBRARY NOW OFFERS DOWNLOADABLE VIDEO

Patrons Have Access to Downloadable Video, Audio Books, and Music

Garfield County Public Library District has extended their online audio book and music collection on Marmot with downloadable video at http://marmot.lib.overdrive.com/.

Users can check out and download video from the comfort of home and enjoy titles on a PC, laptop, or transfer to a dozens of supported devices. The addition of video to our digital collection has been greatly anticipated by our patrons and we have high expectations of the popularity of the service.

Patrons have 24/7 access to an opening collection of 100 video titles, including documentaries, “How To” learning videos, feature films like Super Size Me, kid science titles, classic horror films, and more.

Downloadable video uses the OverDrive Media Console; the same software which patrons are already familiar with for audio books and music. Titles can also be transferred to hundreds of supported devices to enjoy anytime, anywhere, and some audio titles can even be burned to CD. At the end of the 7-day lending period, the titles automatically expire and are returned to the library’s collection. Check out is worry free for patrons because there are no late fees or damaged items.

For assistance getting started with downloadable formats, see your local library’s staff.
