The Rifle Branch Library is closed until further notice for roof repairs. We apologize for the inconvenience. If the information below does not answer your questions, please call 625-3471 or 625-4270 (both numbers will connect you to the Library Administration Offices while the branch is closed).
Thank you for your patience while we work to re-open the branch!
Teen Summer Reading programming change: The "Paying for College" CollegeInvest programs originally scheduled for Monday-Wednesday, June 26-28, have been cancelled by the presenter and will not be rescheduled. We apologize for the inconvenience. All of our branches have lists of resources helpful to the college-funding process and our friendly librarians would be happy to help you with your research The Parachute Branch renovation is almost complete! The branch will close at 5 pm on Saturday, July 31, in the temporary location (at the corner of Fisher and Hill Streets in downtown Parachute) and remain closed for the month of August while we move back into our newly renovated building at 244 Grand Valley Way. All are welcome to come celebrate the Grand Opening of our new library on Saturday, September 11. We're excited! Summer Reading for kids (entering grades K-4) and teens/tweens (entering grades 5-12) is going on now! You can sign up at any branch or online - just click on the links above to learn more. All of our Summer Reading (kids) and SR 2.0 (teens/tweens) events are listed on our calendar and you can learn more at your local branch. You can attend programs at any branch, not just your "home" library. Garfield County Libraries' Adult Summer Reading Program is back, too! For every three books you read, you may complete an entry card (containing the titles, authors, and a sentence or two describing each book) for our bi-weekly prize drawings. Learn more at your local branch. All branches of the Garfield County Libraries now have Kill-A-Watt electricity usage monitors available to borrow with your library card. The monitors allow you to measure the electricity used by appliances and other devices in your home or office. With a little simple math, you can calculate how much it costs to operate a device and catch the culprits behind your high energy bills. You may check out a Kill-A-Watt for one week at a time. For more information, view our downloadable Kill-A-Watt brochure or ask at your local branch. Our calendar has the most current listing of events. Use the options at the top of the calendar to limit your search to certain branches, kids' programs, and/or teen programming. |
