The Gordon Cooper Branch is pleased to present programming for the whole family in connection with the Visions of the Universe exhibition. Events are listed below; you can also see our calendar or this downloadable schedule. All events are free and open to everyone.
Exhibit Grand Opening! ~ Friday, July 3 ~ 5:30-8 pm
Celebrate the Visions opening as part of the First Friday festivitites.

Way Out Wednesdays ~ July 8 through August 26 ~ all day
Upper Elementary and Middle School students, explore online to discover the answer to the question of the week and win prizes!
Evening Family Times ~ July 6 through August 31
Explore an interactive display with take-home activities. The display changes every two weeks, starting on a Monday evening:
- July 6 ~ Where do stars come from and where do they go?
- July 20 ~ How to eat in space (yum!)
- August 3 ~ Photographs of outer space
- August 17 ~ Charting the night sky
Teen Space Craft: Where is Earth? ~ Tuesday, July 14 ~ 4 pm
Teens, come make a model of the solar system. No space suits required!

Star Party at Sopris Park! ~ Saturday, July 18 ~ 8:30-11 pm
Do some star gazing with local astronomers, brought to you by the Three Rivers Astronomy Club and the Gordon Cooper Library.
Out of This World Summer Reading ~ Tuesday, July 21 ~ 10 am-noon
Bob Koper brings a Starlab to show us the night skies. Other space activities include drawing constellations and building rockets.
Lunch with an Astronomer ~ Tuesday, August 11 ~ 11:30 am
Bring a bag lunch and join an astronomy talk with a NASA Ambassador.
Teen Space Craft: Model Rockets ~ Tuesday, August 18 ~ 4 pm
Teens, put your design skills to work as you build your own spacecraft.
