Creative Element: Duct Tape Creations for Teens

 Join teens at the Glenwood Spring Branch Library to make your own duct tape creations including wallets, coin purses, neck ties, hair bows, and more!

This free program is for teens ages 13-18 and will be held on June 12 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A variety of Duct Tape colors and patterns will be provided. Light snacks will be served. For more information call 945-5958 or visit the Glenwood Springs Branch Library at 413 9th Street.

What is a Computer?

This free introductory class will be held at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library, and will offer hands-on training for adults who are new to computers. You'll learn how to use a mouse, what the Internet is, the basic layout of a computer screen, and be introduced to the library home page.  What is a Computer takes place from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 15.

Bi-Lingual Preschool Storytime/ Cuentos Bilingues

 Preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and their accompanying adults are invited to attend storytime at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. For more information call the library at 970-945-5958.

Scrabble Club

If you love words, games, and having fun, then this club is for you! Our adult Scrabble Club meets from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. on the first Tuesday of every month at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Beginners and experts alike are encouraged to join our club, which is free and open to the public. Make new friends and learn new Scrabble strategies. Scrabble boards, scoring materials, and dictionaries are provided.

The Glenwood Springs Branch Library will close for construction from August 19 through September 13.

The Grand Opening of the new Glenwood Springs Branch Library will be September 14.

Michael Stanwood's Exploring the World Through Music

  Michael Stanwood's Exploring the World Through Music includes lessons in geography, social studies, languages, even clothing- all through the back door of the wondrous musical instruments that Michael has collected in his travels. A Khaen, a Didgeridu, Angklungs; he plays them all and wants you to play them as well in this unique, interactive, and often hilarious program.

Michael Stanwood's Exploring the World Through Music will take place at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Tuesday, July 30, at 1:30 pm.

Colorado Fossils

 The Museum of Western Colorado will lead a talk about what fossils are, how they are formed, what they can teach us, how they are found, their preparation and dating, why they are found in Colorado, and the work of a paleontologist.  They will also provide a collection of fossils including dinosaur, plant, mammal, and sea creature remains.  They will also talk briefly about the time line of our planet, the changing environment of Colorado, how dinosaurs behaved, and why they disappeared.

Charlie 'The Noise Guy:' Eat My Dust

  A dirt bike, a bulldozer, a monster truck and a kid with a shovel- what do they all have in common? They are all noisy and like to play in the mud!

Charlie Williams is an underground comic and a vocal sound impressionist, better known as “The Noise Guy.” He is a mud-slingin,’ noise-makin’ kids comedian! He’ll take you on an audio off-road adventure to get down to the nitty gritty. You won’t believe your ears!
