5th Element K-2 Class @ Rifle
Calling all scientists in kindergarten through 2nd grade you are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, March 1st from 12 to 2 p.m. to discover density with Ms. Melissa Matis. Students will learn about the density of an object/liquid, by observing whether it can sink, float, stay together or separate. Each Scientist will create and bring home a “Test Tube” bottle to keep. Help us celebrate Easter and Spring Break by searching for Little Peep, the baby library chick!
Little Peep loves hiding in the Rifle Branch Library, and every day he finds a new spot! If you find Little Peep during the week of March 25th through March 29th, tell a library employee where his hiding place is and receive a prize!
5th Element 3-4 Class @ Rifle
Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, February 22 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to learn about segregation and how it affected all citizens and sparked the civil rights movement with Ms. Melissa Matis. Students will be introduced to the key events and figures of the Civil Rights Movement. Supplies and snacks will be provided. Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, February 8 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to travel back in time to Ancient Egypt with Ms. Ashley Atwater. Together we will learn about how one of the first organized civilizations. We will get a chance to build a great pyramid together and create life size mummies. Students will also have the opportunity to create scrolls with their own hieroglyphic message inside. Come join us on this exciting journey through Ancient Egypt! Supplies and snacks will be provided.
