For those of you who couldn't join us on Wednesdays in the summer, Tackle it Tuesday is back! Want to have a day of fun and accomplishment? We’ll have tables, irons, ironing boards, and cutting mats all set up for your convenience. Drop in and bring your project for a day of crafting, food, and friends. Tackle it Tuesday will be held on Wednesday, September 10 from 10:00 - 5:00 pm at the Parachute Branch Library.
Bring your own lunch; refreshments will be provided.
Join your friends after school for arts and crafts at the New Castle Branch Library at 4:30 pm on Thursday, October 3. Make a scarecrow to help decorate the library for Halloween! All scarecrows will be judged by the public and the winner will receive a spooky prize!
Tweens and teens-this ones for you. If you are in middle school or older, we will be meeting every Friday for a special event. We will have crafts, Wii, cooking lessons or even special technology days. Invite your friends for a fun time at the library! Friday Fun Club takes place at the New Castle Branch Library on Fridays during the school year at 10:30 am.

Improve your art skills or learn something new as we work on a project with a local artist. We will feature a different project and artist every month! This month, Youth Services Coordinator Jeannine will teach you how to make duct tape creations, including wallets, bracelets, and ties! Teen Artist Workshop takes place Thursday, September 5 at 4:00 pm at the Carbondale Branch Library.
All school aged children are invited to After School Arts and Crafts at the New Castle Branch Library beginning Thursday, September 5 at 4:30 pm. We will be doing different art or crafts projects on the first Thursday of each month. After school snacks will be provided!
To celebrate the annual Burning Mountain Festival, local artists and craftspeople will have their work on display at the New Castle Branch Library from September 3 through September 7. Join us for an Artist Reception on Friday, September 6 at 1:00 - 2:00 pm. On Saturday, September 7 we will have artists demonstrating the creative process in the library.
Please join us for a reception on Friday, September 6 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm to honor the artists and craftspeople who are exhibiting their work the week of the Burning Mountain Festival. We will be serving light refreshments in the lobby of the New Castle Branch Library.
Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read with art-making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. Story Art programs are held at the Carbondale Branch Library on the first Tuesday of each month at 3:45 pm and are for children in grades K-5.
The Carbondale Branch Library offers a preschool storytime every Tuesday at 10:30 am. Enjoy books, songs, and more! This program is for children ages 2 to 5. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
