Tackle It Tuesday
Calling all quilters, stampers, needle crafters and scrap bookers! Want to have a day of fun and accomplishment? We’ll have tables, irons, ironing boards, and cutting mats all set up for your convenience. Drop in and bring your project for a day of crafting, food and friends. Bring your own lunch, refreshments will be provided.
Tackle It Tuesday takes place at the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesday, March 12, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
After School Arts and Crafts
All school aged children are invited to meet at the New Castle Branch Library at 4:30 pm on Thursday, March 7th to explore different arts and crafts. All supplies will be provided, as well as after school snacks.
Origam-Wii
Play the Wii like normal, and also take on an origami project. Enter your finest in the Paper Crane Beauty Pageant. Ready for some football? Play in the Super Paper Bowl. New challenges each week throughout January and February.
The Rifle Branch Library hosts Origam-Wii every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
Love Taco
Tacos are great. But Love Tacos are the best! Stop by the Storytime Room at the Rifle Branch Library to make and eat your very own Love Taco. Fill your shell-y and your bell-y with gummy worms & bears, heart candies, sprinkles, sauce, chili powder & more! Or you and your "special" friend can make Love Tacos for one another to enjoy (or choke down, depending on what you put in it). Love Taco. Love Taco. Love Taco.
Love Taco takes place at the Rifle Branch Library on Saturday, February 9th at 1:00 p.m. Food goodies limited. First come, first served.
Big Read Family Storytime
The Gordon Cooper Branch Library presents a Big Read Family Storytime on Monday, February 11th at 4:00 p.m. with songs and stories from the Dust Bowl era. Featuring songs from the Woody Guthrie “Grow Big" collection and books from the 1930's. Children will even get to make and play tambourines and washboards. This program will be led by Sue Schnitzer, the Gordon Cooper Branch Youth Services Librarian, and an award winning children’s musician.
Bilingual Big Read Storytime
The Gordon Cooper Branch Library presents a bilingual Big Read storytime on Tuesday, February 12th at 10:30 a.m. with age-appropriate songs and stories from the Dust Bowl era. Come hear songs from the Woody Guthrie “Grow Big collection.” Children will even get to make and play tambourines. This program will be led by Alejandra Rico, the Gordon Cooper Branch Assistant Youth Services Librarian, and Sue Schnitzer, the Gordon Cooper Branch Youth Services Librarian, and an award winning children’s musician.
Story Art with the Aspen Art Museum
Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read with art-making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. Story Art programs are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library and are for children in grades K-5.
Story Art with the Aspen Art Museum
This month's Story Art will be related to The Big Read. Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read with art-making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. The Big Read 2013 book is "The Grapes of Wrath," which is set in the Dust Bowl of the 1930's. Story Art programs are held on the second Tuesday of each month and are for children in grades K-5.

Preschool Storytime
Enjoy books, songs and more at weekly storytime for children age 2-5. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
