Paws to Read
Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. for PAWS to READ! Children in grades K-5 can sign up to read to the dogs for approximately 15 minutes. Featuring dogs and handlers/literacy specialists from Heeling Partners of the Roaring Fork Valley.
Story Art with the Aspen Art Museum
Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read with art-making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. Story Art programs are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library and are for children in grades K-5.
Story Art with the Aspen Art Museum
This month's Story Art will be related to The Big Read. Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read with art-making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. The Big Read 2013 book is "The Grapes of Wrath," which is set in the Dust Bowl of the 1930's. Story Art programs are held on the second Tuesday of each month and are for children in grades K-5.
Teen Zone
Teen Zone takes place in the Gordon Cooper Library Community Room on Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. Study, surf the net, read, write, draw, or hang out. Bring a laptop or borrow one of ours.

Movie Day - Looney Tunes
Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library at 4:00 p.m.on the fourth Tuesday of each month for popcorn and a movie! In January, we will be holding Movie Night on the FIFTH Tuesday and featuring Looney Tunes!

Music and Game Day
Want to write a song? Play a Game? Jam and Dance? Our resident musician/ songwriter/Youth Services Librarian will lead songwriting activities and then hand out the rhythm instruments so you can jam and dance along. We've also got Card games, Dominoes, Checkers, Chess, Uno, and more. Twister anyone? Music and Game day is the third Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library. For kids in grades K-5.
