Genealogy Boot Camp: Who Do You Think You Are?

You’ve heard the saying: “Who do you think you are?” On Saturday, November 3rd from 10:00 am till 5:00 pm at the Rifle Library’s Genealogy Boot Camp you will have the chance to find out. We will show you how to start researching your family's history! You will learn the rules of genealogy and all about home sources-including the paper trail and the people we know. You will discover how to fill out a pedigree chart and family group sheets. We will be using ancestry.com library edition (Garfield County Library District provides this valuable database for you to use at the library)

Our genealogist is James K. Jeffrey who has been with the Denver Public Library since 1985 and a genealogy collection specialist since 1988. He was the 2004 recipient of the P. William Filby Award for Excellence in Genealogical Librarianship from the National Genealogical Society, and the past President of the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies as well as an active member in the National Genealogical Society. He is passionate about connecting researchers with resources to explore their ancestors and the world in which they lived.
