One Book One Town: Author Presentation

Join us for the 12th Annual One Book One Town event at the Carbondale Branch Library. This year, the library is pleased to host New York Times bestselling author Sam Kean. His book, The Disappearing Spoon, is available now for checkout at your local library. Kean will give a presentation at the library at 7 p.m. and a book signing with refreshments will follow at 8 p.m.

Author Bio

Sam Kean is the New York Times bestselling author of The Tale of the Dueling Neurosurgeons, The Disappearing Spoon, and The Violinist’s Thumb. His first two books were also named Amazon top-five science books of the year. The Disappearing Spoon was a runner-up for the Royal Society of London's book of the year for 2010, and The Violinist's Thumb was nominated for the 2013 PEN/Wilson award for literary science writing. His work has appeared in the New York Times magazine, Psychology Today, Slate, Mental Floss, and other publications, and he has been featured on NPR's “Radiolab,” “All Things Considered,” and “Fresh Air.” He has given well over a hundred talks on his books, in five different countries and in two dozen different states.
