Online Learning

Garfield County Libraries offers access to hundreds of online courses to help you meet your personal and professional goals. Whether you want to brush up on your math skills, learn how to plant a vegetable garden, or see what it takes to start a business, we have something to help. Not finding a course on what you want? Contact your branch library and we’ll help you identify a course that meets your needs.

Are the courses free?
All of the courses here are free to library members. Some courses are free to anyone online, and some the library pays for.

Where do the courses come from and who are the teachers?
We choose courses that are taught by instructors qualified to teach the topics of their courses. Some of these classes are offered free online by universities and others by experts. Some courses have pre-recorded lectures and some offer direct access to the instructors.

Can I get high school or college credit for these courses?
Some schools are starting to recognize individual online learning and some of these courses offer certificates of completion. Check with your school or continuing education governing body to learn whether or not you can get credit.
