What the Library Can Do for Teachers
Book Buckets
Would you like books and materials to go along with a lesson plan or study unit? Let your local library know and we can provide a Book Bucket tailored to the specific subject, grade and reading level you need. Don’t forget that we also have videos and music that may fit in with your lesson!
Book Talks
Hard to get kids excited about books? Have the library come to your school to do a book talk where we will engage readers of all ages and levels to help foster a genuine interest in reading.
Book Recommendations
Looking for a great book for a class read-aloud? Our librarians have a running list appropriate for your grade level!
Outreach Programs
We treasure community involvement, especially with our schools. With our Outreach Programs, the library can coordinate with your plan and standards to enhance your lesson. Critical thinking skills and cognitive reasoning come into play with programs that feature mysteries and more. Let us do the work, we’ll bring the program to you!
Field Trips
The library is a great place for a field trip at any age from preschool through high school. As a child, a field trip to the library can be fun, engaging and exciting. An older student visiting the library on a class field trip could find an important key to success. The library has many resources for research, databases for learning and homework help, access to practice tests for the ACT and SAT and much more. You can also schedule a field trip to a library program!
