The Summer of 2022 brought new encounters with bears in our community. While it was somewhat magical to see these creatures in and around our community, their presence also brought many questions and concerns to light. It is important that we understand what goes on when bear interactions take place. It is just as important to have conversations around the impact of those interactions on our community.
A representative from the Colorado Bear Coalition will be present and share years of experience being involved in keeping our community members safe, and also how we can create safety for our bear neighbors. Local resident and trauma researcher, Dr. Edward Mooney, will be present to help create an environment for healing conversations. We are hopeful that this conversation will be the first step to becoming safer for ourselves, our pets, and the local bear population.
